Frequently asked questions

Do you take beginners?
Not at the moment — we're a club for experienced players, so games stay fast and competitive. If you can rally confidently and hold your own in doubles, you'll feel right at home.
Is the club adults only?
Yes. Wychelm is an adults-only club (18 and over).
What does it cost to play?
It's £8 on a pay-as-you-go basis, paid on the night. We also offer annual membership, which is better value if you play most weeks — drop us a line for the current rate.
What shuttles do you use?
Feather shuttles, every session. They fly truer and reward good technique, and they're included in the cost of play.
Is there parking?
Yes — there's free parking on site at Frances Bardsley School.
What should I bring?
Your racket and clean, non-marking indoor court shoes. We'll sort the shuttles and the games — just turn up ready to play.
How do I come along for the first time?
Easiest thing is to email us first at hello@wychelmbc.co.uk so we know to expect you, then come down on a Monday between 7.30 and 9.30pm.
